Porcelain restorations are natural-looking, metal-free ways to repair and rebuild teeth, including crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, and bridges. Because dental porcelain mimics the look of natural enamel, these restorations blend beautifully with your smile while restoring strength and function. At Dentistry at Millennium Park, we custom-craft each one to match your teeth.
Porcelain restorations use dental ceramic, a strong, tooth-colored material, to repair, strengthen, and beautify teeth. Unlike older restorations made with metal, porcelain catches the light the way natural enamel does, so your repair blends in seamlessly rather than standing out.
Porcelain is wonderfully versatile. It can be shaped into crowns that cap a damaged tooth, thin veneers that transform the front of a smile, inlays and onlays that restore a tooth conservatively, and bridges that replace missing teeth. The right restoration depends on your tooth and your goals.
This page is an overview of our porcelain options. Below, you'll find the specific restorations we offer, each with its own page that explains exactly what's involved.

05The natural-looking crown that completes a dental implant.
Note: Not sure which you need? We'll help you choose at your visit.
The exact steps depend on which restoration you need, but the experience is comfortable and follows a similar path.
Comfort note: Our comfort menu (noise-canceling headphones, Netflix, blankets, and more) is here to help you relax.

Cost depends on the type of restoration and the number of teeth. Restorative porcelain work, like crowns, inlays, onlays, and bridges, is often covered in part by dental insurance, while purely cosmetic work, like veneers, is usually not. We're in-network with most major PPOs and will review your specific benefits with you.
To keep treatment manageable, we offer financing through CareCredit and Cherry, and members of our in-house membership plan receive 15% off treatments. We'll always give you a clear estimate up front.

Porcelain is strong and beautiful, but a few things are worth knowing. Like any restoration, porcelain can chip or wear over many years and may eventually need replacing, and preparing a tooth for some restorations is not reversible. We'll set realistic expectations for the specific restoration you choose.
Porcelain is the ideal choice for most natural-looking restorations, but it isn't the only material. In some high-stress situations, such as a back tooth that takes heavy grinding force, a material like zirconia may be recommended for extra strength. We'll always suggest the material that best balances appearance and durability for your tooth.
Natural-looking restorations come down to artistry and precision. We use modern digital scanning for an accurate, comfortable fit, no goopy trays, and we take great care with the shape, shade, and finish so your restoration looks like it belongs in your smile.
As a proudly woman-owned, all-female practice in the heart of the Loop, led by a woman of color, we pair modern dentistry with genuine, personal care and an eye for natural-looking results.

Meet Dr. RanganathanThey're natural-looking, metal-free restorations made from dental ceramic, including crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, and bridges. Porcelain blends with your natural teeth while restoring their strength and function.
Porcelain looks natural because it mimics the translucency of tooth enamel, and it's metal-free and biocompatible, with no dark gray lines at the gumline that metal restorations can show. It's the better choice when appearance matters, which, for most visible teeth, it does.
Yes. Modern dental porcelain is strong and long-lasting with good care. Like any ceramic, it can chip under extreme force, so for a few high-stress situations we may suggest a stronger material such as zirconia.
Often, yes. Many patients choose to update old metal crowns or silver fillings with tooth-colored porcelain for a more natural look. We'll check the tooth and let you know your options.
It depends on the type and number of teeth. Restorative work like crowns and bridges is often partially covered by insurance, while cosmetic veneers usually are not. We're in-network with most major PPOs, offer financing and a 15% member discount, and we'll give you a clear estimate first.
